A site visit to the royal hospital chelsea

Last week, the team visited the Royal Hospital Chelsea grounds to see the plot of land that will soon become our Silent No More Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

The Lady Garden team was joined by Darren Hawkes and Joy Baker, and it was really special to have the full Chelsea team in one place. Together, we shared a sense of pride, gratitude and responsibility. This garden carries a real weight, it represents conversations that are often too difficult to have, deeply personal experiences, and a cause that matters profoundly.

Seeing the site in person made everything feel real. It marked the shift from imagining what this garden could be, to preparing for what it will be. It was so exciting to see the site map, pictured below!

60 women are diagnosed with one of the five gynaecological cancers every day in the UK. Standing on the site, it was impossible to ignore what our ‘Silent No More’ Garden at RHS Chelsea will signal. As the first gynaecological cancer charity to be present at the show, the garden is not intended to blend quietly into its surroundings, but to occupy space with purpose and intent.

While it’s hard not to think ahead to the excitement of Show week, this garden is about far more than that. Conceived as a platform rather than a moment, it is intended to raise awareness, prompt meaningful conversation and challenge the persistent silence surrounding the five gynaecological cancers. By taking up space at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, this garden aims to act as a catalyst for lasting change, ensuring these conversations continue long after the show has closed.

As we left, there was a strong sense of purpose and excitement. We can’t wait to return as the journey continues, and to share updates with everyone who believes in our mission.
